Bitcoin embodies financial freedom like no other money—it enables censorship-resistant transactions without requiring permission. Free money is the foundation of a free and efficient society, both online and offline. However, while Bitcoin decentralizes control, its survival ultimately depends on people willing to defend the freedoms it provides.

That is why we call on all Bitcoiners to oppose the introduction of this insecure digital ID (E-ID). Over time, such an ID will link all our activities, erode our privacy, and open the door to mass surveillance.

Although advertised as an «optional» tool, the E-ID will likely exploit the same human weaknesses that companies like Facebook and Google have long profited from: the short-sighted tendency to trade privacy for convenience.

Moreover, the continued accumulation of biometric data in fedpol’s centralized E-ID database represents a massive honeypot—a prime target for hackers that will be both costly to secure and disastrous if breached. In an era where data is no longer just the «gold» of the 21st century but also toxic waste, we must treat our most sensitive personal information with extreme caution.
